UEMS organized street drama at 10 selected locations (Chyasal, Chushikha, Dupat, Sundhara, Mangalbazaar, Guitole, Gwarko, Ga:bahal, Jawalakhel and Patan Dokha) of LSMC on 20th, 21st, 27th and 28th February 2009. They were organized at wards 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, 18 and 22 of LSMC which were mostly affected by epidemic of Cholera in the previous year. The drama is intended to increase the level of awareness of the targeted communities on safe water consumption and improve better hygienic practices to subside water borne diseases in the area.

Pre construction training on operation and maintenance of the sulav toilets (affordable latrines) was provided to beneficiary communities of Bungamati on 10th April 2009. There was an active participation of the people from all three communities; Pharsidole-Phant, Khoicha and Khoibu in the programme.

Community Based Monitoring & Evaluation training was organized at Bungamati Samuhik Aviyan Hall, Bungamati - 9 on 18th April 2009. The orientation training was provided to the Sanitation User's Committee of Bungamati with other key persons of the community with a total participant of 20 individuals. UEMS always has given importance to community involvement in monitoring and evaluation so as to increase the feeling of ownership and ensure their active participation in the project. The CBME system that has been updated recently in accordance to urban and peri urban context has been piloted in the Bungamati.
